On Site Volunteer Roles
Application opens closer to the event date
Technical Inspection - inspection of the student-designed vehicles to verify compliance with the Pittsburgh Shootout rules. SCCA, FS, FSAE, etc experience preferred
Brakes test - conducting the brakes test to determine the student vehicle stops as expected to the rules
Rain test - conducting the rain test to determine the EV student vehicle has no faults when put under moderate rain for ~3 minutes
Timing - Reporting and logging time trial results, spotting penalties, and control of the start line at the autocross, acceleration, and skidpad events
Flagging - Reporting of student team car numbers, inspection of required safety equipment at the start-line, control of the start line at the autocross, acceleration, and skidpad events
Ops - answering attendee questions, distribution of materials, crowd control, general "runner" tasks
